This is a tip so quick you’ll be able to start using it instantly, and will be able to implement it in a matter of minutes! For many niches, images are just as important as the written word, in fact for some bloggers the images make up the bulk of the content. Even if images aren’t the pinnacle of your blog, they must be of the best quality you can manage, so they do your content and your blog justice! You don’t need a ridiculously expensive camera to add these changes to your routine, you just need to add a couple of seconds on to your editing time when putting your post together- it’ll make all the difference.
Step One: Brighten
Most computers will come with some kind of photo editing software, and however basic this is there will more often than not be a setting that allows you to play with the brightness of your images.
Now you don’t want to take this too far; the last thing you want is a set of washed-out photos. All you need is a slight edit to lift the photos and give them a boost. You may not notice the difference immediately, but if you save your slightly brightened image and compare it to the original, more often than not the original looks slightly dull in comparison. Of course this isn’t a one-size-fits-all tip, but in my experience a quick brighten really adds vibrancy to an image. Try it next time you’re editing your images and see if it works for you.
Step Two: Resize
This tip refers to your image’s placement within your blog post. Images look miles better when they are properly resized to fit the exact width of your posts. It’s a simple change but the effects are brilliant, your posts will instantly look more professional. You’ll be able to find out the width of your posts by right-clicking on any post and selecting ‘inspect element’. Edit each image to the exact width of your blog post for a neater and more professional finish.
So there you have it, two simple changes you can make tomorrow to make your images look better!
I would definitely agree with you. I used to not be too bothered with the imagery. But since I have resized and brightened the photos I think my blog looks way better!

Exactly- the smallest changes can make such a huge difference!
Great advice! My photos do show up oversized on my site when on my iPhone…need to be more conscious of adjusting those before posting. Thanks Rebecca!
