Call to Action!
Are there any call to actions you should be including at the end of your post- or even as part of it?! Do you want people to sign up to your news letter, follow on twitter or comment? Adding a brief call to action into your post can really help you boost your blogging goals!
Picture Size and Resolution
Good quality photos can make an incredible difference to how your blog looks. This doesn’t necessarily mean you need an expensive photo editing suite, but you do need to take care when sizing your photos.
Particularly if you have ‘featured images’ which are put into a slide show- if your not careful these can stretch out your images making them look bad quality and grainy. Make sure you preview every post before you put it live to make sure images aren’t distorted!
Spelling and Grammar Sanity Check
This should be pretty standard for all bloggers! If you have a willing participant, getting someone else to look over your posts can really help. An outsider is likely to spot odd sounding sentences or badly phrased statements.
Relevant Internal Links Included
Internal linking can be a great way to move readers around your site. Do you mention a product you’ve posted on before? Mention a place you’ve featured? Link back!
Credits Given
It is incredible important to credit any work you use in your posts, whether you reference another blogger, or use a photo that’s not your own. Any content not created by you must be credited to its owner!
Social Media Scheduled
You might not be a fan of scheduling your tweets and statuses, but if you don’t have time to be online constantly scheduling a bit of social media can be a great way to promote your post whilst you’re in the go.
I have a pretty similar checklist, but include making my better half sense check it as well as I tend to miss some pretty basic typos that don’t get picked up by the spell check. Stephen :o)
Getting someone else to look over posts is always a good idea!!
