A few months ago, we wrote about some of the best up-and-coming bloggers around in our One to Watch series.
(You should totally check those out by the way!)
We recently caught up with one of our One to Watch bloggers, Alexandra. She’s a multitalented university student from Toronto who showcases her baking, DIY and general creativity on her blog Ms. Tiger Lily.
Tell us a little about yourself (and your blog!)
I’m a Canadian lifestyle blogger in her first year of undergrad, who loves to create things and take pictures. So, my blog Ms. Tiger Lilly is a reflection of my passions for creating and sharing through my DIYs, recipes (for food and beauty remedies) and other content.
Because it’s the perfect way to bring a story or project to life. I love writing and reading, and blogging is a way to do both while connecting with people from all walks of life.
What do you blog about?
I blog about DIYs, simple recipes to satisfy your sweet tooth, life lessons that I’ve learned, short reviews of books and events/outings that I attend around my home city of Toronto or whenever I travel.
Is it difficult to blog in such a saturated market?
No, it’s not difficult, but it is challenging. With so many people who fall under the “lifestyle” umbrella, it can be tough to think of ways to stand out. But in the past, all of the time I spent trying to be unique actually stopped me from doing what I love. So, I’ve adopted this quote by Dave Grohl, “No one is you and that is your power” to keep me focused on the most important thing when creating content, being myself.
As one of our up and coming ‘One to Watch’ bloggers, where can you see yourself as a blogger in the future
I’d love to grow my readership to the point where I could build a really positive and creative online community. And through that, I would love to become a full-time blogger and do some cool collaborations with brands, other bloggers/creatives, and organizations/NGOs to really give back to the world.
