What To Do When You Have Writers Block

writers-block

I had SERIOUS writers block before I came to write this article, so I decided to use my experience and show you the tips and tricks I use when I need some inspiration.

  1. Take a break!

Often writers block can come from thinking too much about the fact that you can’t think of anything to write about, and the more you sit there, staring at a blank document the more frustrated you’ll become. So leave your laptop, go make a cup of tea, walk the dog, do some yoga…. Just do anything relaxing and proactive that will stop you from thinking about your article. An idea might pop into your head, or when you come back to write it you will be more relaxed and less frustrated.

  1. What have you written about before?

Whenever I have trouble coming up with an idea for an article, I have a look back over the previous articles we’ve written to see if there is any I could elaborate on, or take a different angle. I also look on our Twitter and see which articles have been the most popular and what our audience want to learn more about.

  1. Don’t write about just anything

If you just go for the first thing that pops into your head you first of all aren’t going to enjoy writing about it and it more than likely won’t be your best piece of writing. For example, before I chose to write this article on writers block I was going to write a list of ways to make your blog more attractive, but I had already recently written a similar one to that, and I knew it wouldn’t be particularly insightful. So I decided to save that idea for another day when I had more thoughts on the subject, and write about something I was experiencing instead!

Do you have any tips and tricks for how you get over writers block? Let us know in the comments below!

Well, just right about now I could get rid that writer’s block and start to write another subjects on my blog. Sometimes I feel so funny about this writer’s block thing: no matter how complete the points you want to write about the subject, once this writer’s block appears, nothing can stop you from having no idea to elaborate them into sophisticated sentences or at least writing in your own way.

    Thanks for sharing, btw.
