How to Keep Your Content Fresh!

If you’re working hard on your blog and posting a couple of times a week there are no doubts about it- there will come a time when you start to run out of new content ideas! It happens to the best of us, and it’s by no means the end of the world. With a few relevant websites and some industry research you should always be able to come up with something relevant, new and interesting for your readers! Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Set Up Google Alerts

Google alerts are a really handy way of keeping on top of relevant news and posts as they happen. You can set up Google alerts for pretty much anything, just go to http://www.google.co.uk/alerts

I find getting them scheduled for once a day is best- it means a nice little package of relevant stories online each morning. Very handy!

Check in on Relevant Hashtags

This is something else I do every morning, and it’s been invaluable. Not only do I find relevant articles to share, I find so many posts which become inspiration for the next Bloggers’ Lounge article. Plus, if anything big happens in your industry you’ll find it on twitter first!

Keep in the Loop with Blogger Chats

Even if you don’t have time to actually take part in a blogger chat, it’s worth checking in and making a note of the topics being discussed as these can often make great content ideas.

Buy Magazines, Papers and Guides Relevant to your Blog

Magazines have excellent content ideas, I try and buy a couple of magazines in various niches once a month and I’d really recommend you do the same whatever niche you blog in. If anything, sitting down with a cup of tea and a few magazines is just a really nice way to spend a morning!
