How-to-start-thinking-like-a-professional-blogger

There comes a point in most bloggers careers where the prospect of blogging full time comes to mind. Professional blogging is hard work and takes plenty of self discipline not to mention time- it’ll quite possible take you years to reach your goal of blogging professionally if that’s your aim. However, the first thing you have to do to become a professional blogger is begin to think like one. Be meticulous in your timing, disciplined when it comes to your style and above all organised! Here are a few tips to help you blossom into a pro blogger:

Tone of Voice

Once you decide to really push for a blogging career, you need to be consistent and careful across both your blog and social media channels. Working with brands will be key to being able to work on your blog full time, so the last thing you want is for a few strongly worded tweets to drive away potential collaborators! Perhaps consider creating two separate twitter accounts if you’ve not already- being sure to maintain a professional and friendly tone of voice on your accounts dedicated to blogging!

Media Pack

This doesn’t have to be an all singing all dancing visual pack, to start just get together a basic media pack including a bit of info on what you’re prepared to offer to brands. This is a great way to kick off negotiations as it shows you know what you’re worth, and are used to working with brands. Putting one together will also help you decide exactly how you want to work!

Dedicated Time

In order to blog professionally you have to treat it professionally and dedicate real time to it. Set aside a dedicated few hours each week for writing, editing and visualising your blog. Trust us- the time you put in will make a real difference both to your content and visually.

House Style

The time mentioned above could well be dedicated to building and finalising your ‘house style’. This basically means aligning everything into your personal ‘brand ideas’ including colouring, tone of voice, logo creation and more!
