Standing out from the crowd is something we’re often encouraging our community to do. Blogging is a rewarding pastime, but when you want to start really getting serious and trying to develop an income from your site you need to stand out. We all know how crowded this community is, and whilst that’s the amazing thing about blogging as there is something for everyone, it means we all need to work hard on proving our worth.
Luckily, there are some fairly simple ways of doing this! It’s not all about building a brand from scratch and spending hours learning how to design a better blog. Sometimes standing out is as simple as asking people what they love about your blog.
Show that You Are Valuable
Recently as you may well know (because I’ve been talking about it non-stop on Twitter!) we’ve had a drastic redesign of our website and brand. It’s something we’d been wanting for a long time, and one of the main things we wanted our site to communicate was that we really do connect with both bloggers and brands. We’re not just a middle-man, we work really closely with all of our clients and our bloggers; this way of working is something we’re really passionate about.
But how can you communicate this without sounding a little….big headed!? We know our clients love working with us, but to say that yourself doesn’t quite have the same impact as someone else saying it does it?
So many of us are held back by not wanting to ask for things- but honestly having an endorsement from another brand, a blogger or even an agency you work with will speak volumes.
We often offer bloggers we work with a testimonial, because we truly know how valuable these endorsements are.
Next time you work with anyone- brand or blogger (or us!), if you’ve had a good experience why not offer to write them a testimonial and be sure to ask for one back! You can use this on your site, in your media pack or wherever you feel comfortable. I can guarantee that it’ll help you tie down some really helpful partnerships.
